Jacob Aki lives in Kapālama, Oʻahu and currently serves as the Chief of Staff to Senator J. Kalani English. He attended Kalihi Kai Elementary before graduating from the Kamehameha Schools in 2013. Jacob received a B.A. in Hawaiian Studies from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and an M.A. in Political Management from The George Washington University.

Growing up as the eldest child in a low-income Native Hawaiian family, Jacob faced many of the challenges that countless local families have experienced while trying to make a living in Hawaiʻi. His humble upbringings fostered a desire within him to give back to his community and enter public service.

As an active member in the community, Jacob serves in numerous leadership positions within the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs, Hale O Nā Aliʻi O Hawaiʻi, the Democratic Party of Hawaiʻi and other non-profit and advocacy organizations. He is also a member of the Kalihi-Pālama Neighborhood Board.
